Elina Albach: „The New Harpsichord“

A new sound for an old instrument! Together with audio engineers, the harpsichordist Elina Albach is developing a new system for electro-acoustic amplification specifically geared to the harpsichord. In her solo programme THE NEW HARPSICHORD, she sounds out unforeseen tonal possibilities. Old music can suddenly be experienced quite directly through the new dimensions of tone richness and volume. Her compositions ultimately push the limits of the resonance chambers of the electronic harpsichord setup. With an open eye to the past and thirst for adventure, Elina Albach discovers the harpsichord sound of the 21^st century.
