Bach and techno, do they fit together? “Yes”, say the musicians of ensemble reflektor. A dominant rhythm, good basslines and catchy melodies – the common aspects are obvious, in their view. With a fresh approach and without false reverence, they combine Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous Goldberg Variations with techno live sets by the DJ and composer Konstantin Heuer. In a gripping interplay of acoustic string sounds and hard electronic beats, the musicians seek new forms of expression in their musical dialogue. Live, improvised and unpredictable, they present a concert evening transcending all genre borders.
