Sprengotchki

The future is female, and that is also true of the folksong, at least in the case of Sprengotchki. The moving a-cappella arrangements of the four musicians breathe new life into old Eastern European folksongs. With an appetite for discovery and a lot of creativity,  they combine influences from the culture of their homelands Russia, Germany, Poland and France with the reality of life in present-day Berlin. On the lovingly designed stage, dressed in appropriate outfits, they tell the stories of their songs and comment on them with instrumental chamber music and the sounds of flute, clarinet and violin. Because incidentally, the four are also excellent instrumentalists. Detached from space and time in a very own musical world, Sprengotchki invite the audience to dream.
