„Erinnern Stören“ | Lydia Lierke in conversation with Phương Thúy Nguyễn, Angelika Kim and Duc Ngo Ngoc

The book “Erinnern stören. Der Mauerfall aus migrantischer und jüdischer Perspektive” (Verbrecher Verlag, 2020) brings together polyphone memories that migrants, Jews, Roma and Sinti, and People of Colour have of the German-German time of transformation. The gathered voices in the book make evident what a violent caesura German unification was for the life-worlds of people who were declared undesired in the historical context of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Based on the experience of common remembrance, Phương Thúy Nguyễn, Angelika Kim and Duc Ngo Ngoc talk about the migration stories of their parents, historical continuities, racism and self-assertion.

To which political and social relations do their parents’ stories refer? How do they inscribe themselves in society today and why are we still preoccupied with these issues? The participants, who have been working for many years in the field of art, activism and science, got to know each other while dealing with these questions. At the KAHO, they seek answers together with the audience.

The event will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

In co-operation with the Verbrecher Verlag.
