Mobile Albania: Rumpel – Wunder – Kammer

The members of the Mobile Albania collective clean up in Lichtenberg. In their function as refuse trackers, they connect the district’s neighbourhoods along the north-south axis from Neu-Hohenschönhausen to Karlshorst. On their route: heaps of bulk refuse. Unwanted things. Discarded things. What do these temporary accumulations on the street corners stand for? Who dumped them there and for what reason? Wouldn’t it be nicer if something else stood there instead? Together with residents and passers-by, Mobile Albania create things that make the street look better. The alleged refuse is turned into a monument, a cinema, a local recreational area, a library… Through the joint clearing and rearranging, Mobile Albania extend an invitation to participate in shared time, small performances, joint lunch breaks. After three weeks, the objects and installations created in the urban space of Lichtenberg will be arranged at the KAHO to a final installation – accompanied by opening speeches and guided tours of the show.
